Merry Christams to All

I hope eveyone had a wonderful Christmas day.
heres a little recap
Kai was a sleepy head this morning so I actually had to wake her up around 9 to remind her that Santa had come to her house. She was very suprised to see he had left her a doll house taller then her but most importantly the only thing she asked for...PAINT! (shes her mothers daughter all right) Nana and Papa suprised K with a beautifull baby buggy so needless to say she spent the rest of her day pushing around her babies and anything else that would fit.

*see the excitement in those fists :)

roll with it

After whipping up a few crayon rolls for holiday gifts I started thinking outside the box...the crayon box that is. My dear friend and co worker R and I exchanged gifts this year and what better to give a Kindergarten teacher and "master of markers" then a Sharpie Roll?

Its pretty much a larger version of a crayon roll with two rows of pockets. You can fill it, fold it in half and off you go, mobile markers from work to home. I really liked the way this turned out, folding the roll in half helps keep everything in place (instead of having the top opening exposed) I also made up a few rolls for the boys with extra wide pocket to fit their hot wheels in.
silly me wrapped them up without getting pictures. if i can remember ill add them later.

Cookie Party

Nona had a great idea for the little ones this year... A Cookie Party! how fun does that sound? Kaija was in heaven. She loves cookies or should I say she loves to lick cookies. She ate the tops of the cookies with decorations and licked sprinkles and sugar off the rest. She had a blast!

Pumpkin Patch

Lele will be turning 3 this week, So what a better way to celebrate then a dress up party at the pumpkin patch? The 90 degree weather made for a lovely trip...in the begining:) Kai wore her costume for about 3 1/2 minutes then off with the wings, out came the hair and after several tugs on the tutu I assisted in it's removal so it wouldnt get torn. Then off shwe was to climb giant pumpkins, jump hay barrels with "brother" and feed the animals. Lunch was AWESOME! carrott zuchini patties in pita bread with all sorts of yummy toppings and dressings. All of L's favorite snacks and cupcakes of course.

After lunch we took a tractor ride thru the pumpkin patch to pick out our beautys. By the time we returned from our tractor ride we had ALL stripped down as much as possible, and quickly realized that everyone had been in the heat enough for the day. Unfortunaly we were unable to make it back inside to take out group photos so we grabbed a couple quick shots in the parking lot before parting to out air conditioned cars.

on the dark side

I have spent the last 27 years as a blonde.
It has been part of my idenity.
Blonde hair, blue eyes, fair skin.
"You know janeen, the blonde one?"
ALL the girls in my family are blonde.
"People pay money to dye their hair your color"
Did I mention it was part of my idenity?
so...

I just went for it! Egyptian plum, how cool of a name is that? It was a great feeling to just DO IT and not think so much its only hair right?it'll grow out, it can be cut, or dyed back. It looks cleaner and i never woulda known if i didnt try. I love it...i think...I strongly like it, yeah, strongly like.

Welcoming an Angel

It has been almost a week since the birth of Angel Rose and I think I am finally able to compose myself to share a little about this amazing day without the waterworks.

On tuesday evening i got the call from Yasmine that her water had broke. YAY! So within the hour I was showered, packed and ready to go. Chris had left work early to stay home with Kai and I was on my way.

By 9 pm myself and the rest of the birthing circle were at Yasmines bed side, at her service.

Although I cant timeline the night, i know it was spent in peace. Yasmine had a wonderful mid wife and understanding nurse staff that pretty much stayed back and let us do our thing.

We chanted, spent some time in trance and breathed as a group. Yasmine rotated between her bed and the birthing tub, along with walking the quiet halls. and we rotated the one pillow and mini blanket in the floor:)

the next day just before noon we welcomed Angel into the world. Shes beautiful and very loved. Im so proud to be one of her fairy god mothers.
I love you Angel Rose
